Episode 1: You Don’t Take a Photograph, You Make It

On 7 January 2026, I released my very first full length episode of Shutter Trails. As with any new endeavour, there are bound to be glitches, and there were a few while recording this one, but most (not quite all) were rectified before I released it. The other issue which I had overlooked was to create a post about the episode being released, which I have now addressed.

In the episode, you will hear me talk about my background in photography and what led me to this point. You will also learn more about my philosophy behind the podcast and the direction I will be taking in the first year and beyond. Throughout the first year, with your assistance, I will review the format and production quality and make adjustments as needed. I look forward to hearing what you think of each episode. Feel free to comment directly on the episode, or leave a review. Topics will focus on the types of photography I frequently do, anything outdoors, in particular landscape, street, etc., but they will also be shaped by what the viewers and listeners express an interest in learning more about. It would also mean a lot to me if you could share the podcast with anyone who may have an interest in the outdoors or photography, as the early days for any podcast are always the hardest to progress beyond.

Here are the links to check out the premier episode and if you don’t want to miss future episodes, make sure to like and follow it.

Thanks!
